Terms and conditions

Furniture

All furniture sold by Upainted is vintage and may show signs of wear and tear with bumps, cracks, dings, and other age-related marks. Larger holes and damage will have repaired but otherwise these marks are part of the vintage experience.

Furniture is hand painted to a high-quality artisan finish, not a factory finish, so some brush strokes or minor imperfections may be visible.

Furniture is advertised on social media and other sales platforms so they may be removed from the website shop page without warning.

Please measure the space where the furniture is going to sit and pay close attention to the dimensions listed on the sales advert. Upainted cannot be responsible for furniture that doesn’t fit when you get it home.

Refunds

Furniture bought from my retail unit in Stone Row Artisans or my workshop may be returned at the buyer’s expense within 28 days of purchase. The buyer is responsible for wrapping and packing the furniture to the same standard as it was shipped to them. Refunds will only be issued once the furniture has arrived safely with Upainted, no damage is found and the furniture is still in a saleable condition.

Only the purchase cost will be refunded. The original delivery fee is non-refundable

Bespoke commission orders are non-refundable.

If you’ve bought the furniture online and haven’t seen the item in person before buying, you have a 14 day cooling period from the date of the sale to contact me for a refund and a further 14 days from then to return it to me in the same condition that it left Upainted’s premises. The buyer is responsible for wrapping and packing the furniture to the same standard as it was shipped to them. Refunds will only be issued once the furniture has arrived safely with Upainted, no damage is found and the furniture is still in a saleable condition. Only the purchase cost will be refunded. The original delivery fee is non-refundable.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Payment terms

All items listed by Upainted for sale must be paid for in full. We accept Credit Card payments on our online store and via Stripe. Cash payments can also be taken when buying in person at the Upainted workshop or in Stone Row Artisans, Coleraine.

Deposits or part payments on furniture currently is not available.

Commission furniture requires a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total estimated price payable before a date is booked in the commission diary with the remainder payable before the completed furniture is collected. This date can be booked up to 4 months ahead allowing time between the first and last installment.

 

Delivery and Shipping

There is limited space in the workshop so furniture cannot be stored indefinitely even if it’s been paid for. Items must be collected within 7 days of purchase unless by prior agreement.  

Buyers are welcome to view and collect furniture from my retail unit at Stone Row Artisans in Coleraine or from my workshop in Limavady. Please contact me to arrange a date and time.

Shipping costs are included in the price of the furniture (unless individually stated in the product description) for Northern Ireland, Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland EXCEPT CORNWALL, THE HIGHLANDS AND ISLANDS.

International shipping IS NOT included in the price

If you require shipping to Cornwall, The Highlands or Islands or internationally contact Upainted BEFORE you buy with your address for an accurate shipping quote.

Please note it can take a couple of weeks for delivery via courier.

The couriers I generally use are a one-man service so where the furniture is heavy or bulky a second person will be needed to help lift upon delivery. Remember delivery is kerbside only. The courier will not carry furniture upstairs.

Ensure the furniture is unwrapped while the courier is present to check for any damage and report it to the courier company immediately.

 

NOTE: If you are arranging your own courier to collect, please ensure they are insured and experienced in transporting and packing furniture. I can’t accept responsibility for any damages or losses that happen in transit. Please don’t use parcel couriers only reputable furniture shippers.

I wrap and pack all my furniture for shipping, but as a standard the courier should use a removals blanket and strap the furniture into the van securely.

If arranging your own courier, please note that you are accepting these terms and are completely responsible for your item the moment it is handed to the courier. Any compensation for breakages or loss should be claimed from the courier only.

 

Faulty or damaged goods

All furniture is checked before leaving the workshop to ensure it’s in good working and decorative order. Upainted is unable to accept any responsibility for it once it has left the workshop.

For items damaged in transit I require full photographs of the furniture and packaging as it is received. Any damage caused by the delivery that is discovered after unwrapping cannot be part of a damages claim. Items damaged after delivery cannot be returned but I will try to fix any damage at a reasonable cost.

If it arrives damaged you should contact the courier firm first under their insurance cover and then Upainted. I will do what we can to help solve the problem.

Products can be shipped via Royal Mail in the UK only

Products can be shipped to Ireland via courier only.

Northern Irish customers can choose shipping between courier and Royal Mail

I will aim to have your purchase with you in 2-3 working days. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee delivery times as the shipping services are independent to me.

 

Out of Stock Items

I try to keep stock levels current but if you item is not in stock, I will email you and give the choice of either a refund or to wait for the item to come back into stock. If you chose a refund you will be credited via your original payment method for the out of stock item, any other items ordered at the same time will be sent to you.

 

Refunds

If you change your mind and decide that you no longer want an item that's been delivered to you, I'm happy to offer an exchange or your money back. I offer a 2 week cooling off period on all items so you have 14 days to decide if you would like to return your purchase.

You must contact Upainted before you return the item. It must be unopened and in re-saleable condition.

You can either return, by post, courier or in store. I do not cover the cost of returns.

Damage in transit

I package goods with care but should an unforeseen accident happen and one of the products leaks or is damaged in transit, please take photographs of the item. Email me with the pictures and I will either issue a full refund or if the product is in stock send you a replacement free of charge.


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned.

Customised bespoke commission furniture cannot be returned or refunded. I also do not accept returns of paint, varnish or specialist decor products that have been opened. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, I cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
